Meet the families
Every family impacted by acquired brain injury is different, and so too is the path they follow. Our families discuss their different paths and experiences, focusing on the early years of their journey and where they are now.

Tom's family story
Just before his 13th birthday, Tom was injured in a bike accident and sustained a brain injury. Tom and his parents talk about his gradual recovery, the importance of family and friends and looking after each other. They also talk about what Tom has achieved since his accident.

Massimo's family story
When Massimo was five years old he was injured in a road accident and sustained a brain injury. His parents, Jo and Robert, and brother, Oliver, talk about his recovery, the importance of family and friends and looking after each other. Audrey's family story
Audrey was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of five. Audrey, her parents, Sue and Wendell, and sisters, Lily and Eve, share their experiences and talk about the importance of family and how they look after each other. They also share tips on how to become stronger as individuals and as a family.

Chelsea's family story
When Chelsea was five years old she was injured in a road accident and sustained a brain injury. Chelsea and her mum, Susie, talk about the accident and its impact on them and Chelsea's dad, Geoff, and sister, Isabella. They discuss Chelsea's recovery, the importance of family and friends, and looking after each other. They also talk about Chelsea's love of singing and performing.

Nick's family story
Nick was 17 when he suffered a brain injury in a car accident, and spent nearly a year in hospital. Nick now lives in his own home, and has an independent and full life. His mum, Jane, talks about their journey. Jane now works at Heads Together for ABI, running programs and events. achieved since his accident.
